Test Center Rules
Please read the Testing Center Rules before you come to take your exam.

SCHEDULING AN EXAM
All exams must be scheduled online through RegisterBlast.
Students
Students must use RegisterBlast to schedule an exam.

Faculty
Faculty members who want the Testing Services Center to give an exam must submit a request through RegisterBlast.

Faculty members may also connect RegisterBlast to Blackboard to make setting up exams easier.
ARRIVAL AND CHECK-IN
Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled exam time.
If you arrive 15 minutes or more after your appointment time, you may have to reschedule.
Exams will begin after students have completed the check-in process.
You must bring a physical photo ID.
Accepted identification may include:

A valid government-issued photo ID
A second form of identification is recommended.
Some exams may have additional identification requirements.
KNOW YOUR EXAM REQUIREMENTS
You are responsible for knowing the rules for your exam.
Before your appointment, make sure you know:

The date and time of your exam

How much time you have to complete the exam

What materials you are allowed to use
-
Whether you may use a calculator
-
What type of identification is required
-
Whether there is a testing fee
-
Any rules given by your instructor or testing organization
Only bring materials that are allowed for your exam.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Personal belongings are not allowed at your testing station.
All personal items must be placed in a secure locker or another area selected by testing staff.
Items that must be stored include:

| Books | Cameras and other Electronic Devices |
Electronic devices must be turned completely off before being placed in a locker.
Food and drinks are not allowed in the testing room.
The Testing Services Center is not responsible for personal items brought into the facility.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, headphones, cameras, and other electronic devices are not allowed in the testing room unless they are specifically approved for your exam.
Any electronic device involved in suspected cheating or testing misconduct may be secured and reviewed by testing staff according to university or testing-agency procedures.
APPROVED TESTING MATERIALS
You may only use materials approved by your instructor or testing organization.
Items that may not be used without approval include:

Testing staff may check your materials before your exam begins.
TESTING ROOM RULES
While in the testing room, you must:

Follow all instructions given by testing staff Keep all testing materials at your workstation Remain quiet Return all scratch paper and testing materials before leaving Stay in your assigned seat Respect other students and Testing Services Center staff Ask permission before leaving the room Avoid talking to other students
Computers in the Testing Services Center may be electronically monitored.
The testing room may also be under video surveillance.
RESTROOM BREAKS
Please use the restroom before your exam begins.
If you are allowed to take a restroom break, your testing time will continue.
Time spent outside the testing room will not be added back to your exam.
Long or repeated restroom breaks may be reported to your instructor or testing organization.
You must get permission from testing staff before leaving the testing room.
HATS AND HEAD COVERINGS
Hats and hoods may not be worn during testing.
Head coverings worn for religious reasons are allowed.
Testing staff may follow approved security and identification procedures when needed.
TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS
Students who need testing accommodations must first receive approval from the Office of Accommodations and Accessibility Services.
Approved accommodations may include:

| Other approved testing arrangements | Approved breaks or testing support |
Students should schedule accommodated exams at least five business days in advance.
Testing Services Center staff cannot approve or change accommodations on the day of the exam.
EXAMINEE MISCONDUCT
Testing misconduct means breaking testing rules or doing something that may affect the fairness or security of an exam.
Misconduct may be reported to:

| The testing organization | Other appropriate university officials |
A student who breaks testing rules may be removed from the Testing Services Center.
Possible consequences may include:
| Ending the exam | Receiving a failing grade |
| Canceling the test score | University disciplinary action |
| Losing the ability to test at the center | Other action taken by the testing organization |
The instructor, university, college, or testing organization will decide the final consequences.
EXAMPLES OF MISCONDUCT
Examples of testing misconduct include:

Giving or receiving help during an exam Taking an exam for another person Talking to another student during testing Allowing another person to take an exam for you Causing a disturbance Copying exam questions or answers Using unauthorized materials or devices Removing exam materials or scratch paper Sharing notes or testing materials Photographing or recording exam content Sharing a calculator Visiting unauthorized websites or programs Refusing to follow testing rules Leaving the testing room without permission
Testing staff will document suspected misconduct and report it to the correct instructor, department, college, university, or testing organization.
