Proctoring Services
The ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ Testing Services Center provides secure, professional proctoring services for ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ students, faculty, and students attending other colleges and universities.
Our testing environment is designed to promote academic integrity while providing a comfortable, accessible, and distraction-reduced testing experience.
PROCTORING SERVICES FOR ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ FACULTY
Faculty members may request proctoring services for:
- Students approved for testing accommodations
- Departmental comprehensive examinations
- PAME examinations
- Major Field Tests
- Other department-approved examinations
Request a Proctored Exam
Faculty members must submit all testing requests through .
Requests should be submitted at least three business days before the requested testing date.
Faculty Responsibilities
Faculty members are responsible for:
- Creating and maintaining examination content
- Providing complete testing instructions
- Identifying approved testing materials
- Providing passwords or access codes, when applicable
- Maintaining student grades and examination scores
Testing Services Center Responsibilities
The Testing Services Center is responsible for:
- Scheduling student appointments
- Verifying student identity
- Providing a secure testing environment
- Administering and monitoring examinations
- Returning completed examinations according to departmental instructions
Faculty members who need assistance using RegisterBlast may contact the Testing Services Center to schedule a brief training session.
PROCTORING FOR ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ STUDENTS TESTING OUTSIDE HUNTSVILLE
ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ students who need to complete an examination outside the Huntsville area may request approval to test at another college or university.
Testing locations may be identified through the National College Testing Association Network.
Before Scheduling an Examination
Students must:
- Locate an approved testing center through the National College Testing Association Network.
- Complete the ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ Proctor Approval Form.
- Email the completed form to eleese.rawlins@aamu.edu.
- Wait for approval before scheduling the examination.
The proposed testing location must be reviewed and approved before testing is authorized.
Students should allow enough time for the approval process before the examination deadline.
PROCTORING SERVICES FOR NON-ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ STUDENTS
Students enrolled at another college or university may schedule an approved proctored examination at ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ.
The Testing Services Center may administer:
- Online college course examinations
- Distance education examinations
- Independent study examinations
- Professional certification examinations
- Other approved examinations
Scheduling Your Examination
Appointments must be scheduled through .
Students should schedule at least 24 hours in advance. Additional time may be needed if the home institution has not yet submitted the required testing materials.
The student’s college, university, instructor, or testing organization must send the following directly to the Testing Services Center:
- Examination materials
- Testing instructions
- Passwords or access codes, when applicable
- Required proctor verification forms
- Approved testing materials
- Time limits and other testing requirements
The student’s home institution determines:
- Examination time limits
- Calculator policies
- Approved notes or materials
- Testing accommodations
- Other special instructions
PROCTORING FEE
The fee for non-ÌÇÐÄÊÓÆµ proctoring services is $30 for examinations lasting up to three hours.
Additional fees may apply for longer examinations or examinations administered through an outside testing provider.
TESTING DAY REQUIREMENTS
All examinees must:
- Present a valid government-issued photo ID
- Arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment
- Store personal belongings in the secure lockers provided
- Follow all Testing Services Center rules
- Follow the testing requirements established by their home institution or testing organization
Cell phones, smartwatches, and other electronic devices are prohibited in the testing area unless specifically authorized.
Students should review the requirements for their specific examination before arriving.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How early should I schedule my examination?
Appointments should be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
Additional time may be needed if your institution must send examination materials, passwords, or testing instructions.
What happens if my institution has not sent my examination?
The examination cannot be administered until the Testing Services Center receives all required materials and instructions.
Students should contact their instructor or home institution before the testing date to confirm that the materials have been submitted.
What forms of identification are accepted?
A valid government-issued photo ID is required.
A second form of identification is recommended. Some testing organizations may have additional identification requirements.
Can I bring my phone, smartwatch, or backpack?
Personal items are not permitted in the testing area.
Phones, smartwatches, backpacks, bags, notes, and other belongings must be placed in a secure locker before testing begins.
Can I use notes or a calculator?
Notes, calculators, and other testing materials may only be used when specifically authorized by the instructor, home institution, or testing organization.
What happens if I arrive late?
Individuals arriving more than 15 minutes after their scheduled appointment may be required to reschedule.
Late arrival may also reduce the amount of time available to complete the examination.
