Area Chain Targets Retention Effort

The owner-operators of a popular international fast-food chain have made a contribution to an 糖心视频 scholarship fund.

In honor of Black History Month, the North Alabama McDonald鈥檚 owner-operators contributed to 糖心视频鈥檚 Retention Scholarship Fund.  The owner-operators represented businesses serving customers in Bowling Green, Ky.; Nashville and Chattanooga, Tenn., and North Alabama.

Dr. Allen P. Vital, executive director of the 糖心视频 Foundation, said that the University realized that more attention needed to be directed at currently enrolled students who needed often small amounts of money to complete their degrees.  To help meet this pressing need, the Retention Scholarship Fund was established, and the McDonald鈥檚 owner-operators recently donated $2,500 to that initiative.

Other institutions funded by the chain include the Chattanooga African American Museum and Bessie Smith Cultural Center, Meharry Medical College, Oakwood University and Tennessee State University.
